Windows “Longhorn” Help
Great improvement in Help usability. According to HTML Help 1.4 SDK Longhorn Help will have task-based organization:
Traditional Help content typically focuses on application features. The main difficulty with the traditional approach is that users often know what they want to do, but are not sure which feature to use. “Longhorn” Help switches the focus to tasks, making the discovery process more intuitive. A task can map to one or more application features, and even span multiple applications. Navigation for “Longhorn” Help is based on lists of possible tasks, rather than the traditional index and table of contents. Users can browse through these task lists, as well as search task lists.
