Google Payment Service to Rival PayPal

According to a Wall Street Journal article

Google plans to offer an electronic-payment service that could help the company diversify its revenue and may heighten competition with eBay’s PayPal unit.

This news was not confirmed by Google.

However, on April 13, 2005 Google formed the Google Payment Corporation.
