Usability News examined 12 fonts:

22 participants took part in the study. Too small for any serous conclusion to be made but the results are still interesting:
- Tahoma and Times are read faster than other fonts.
- Courier, Comic, Verdana, Georgia, and Times are perceived as being most legible.
- Courier and Times are perceived as being the most business-like.
- Comic is perceived as being the most fun and youthful.
- Arial, Verdana, and Comic fonts score high in preference.
