E-mail marketing: test your message before sending it

Do you test your e-mail messages before sending them to your customers and prospects? You will be surprised how many companies do not do that. For example, I receive Forrester “Weekly Research Update” newsletter in text format. And what do I see at the bottom of the newsletter? HTML tags:

Hey, guys, if you send plain text message, don’t use HTML in it.
Before sending any message to customers, send it to yourself. Create an e-mail account at Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. Does your newsletter survive spam filters? How does it look? Is formatting OK?
