Books Folks at Microsoft and Apple Read
Ever wondered what books people at Microsoft and Apple read? Amazon Purchase Circles let you see a list of best selling books for each company.
What do you think Microsoft folks read? Amazon sells them books on Microsoft technologies. Kudos to Amazon.
Book #4 sounds interesting: “Debugging the Development Process: Practical Strategies for Staying Focused, Hitting Ship Dates, and Building Solid Teams” by Steve Maguire. I’m not in software development but I’ll still include this book to my “to-read” list.
I’m not interested in books on AppleScript and Mac OS X. However, Apple’s #4 is a nice catch: “The Elements of Style” by William Strunk Jr. It’s a must-read for me.
Weight loss books seem to be popular at Apple. I wonder why? I guess it’s an overall trend.
#14 The Ultimate Weight Solution Food Guide by Phil McGraw
#15 The South Beach Diet: The Delicious, Doctor-Designed, Foolproof Plan for Fast and Healthy Weight Loss
#16 The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom by Phil McGraw
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown appeared to be very popular at Apple (#11), Adobe (#1) and AOL (#1). Advertising company Ogilvy&Mather also has it as #1 book on its list. I don’t like thrillers but may be I should read this one.
What do advertising companies read on advertising? Ogilvy&Mather, for example, reads:
How to Advertise:Third Edition by Kenneth Roman, Jane Maas
How Customers Think: Essential Insights into the Mind of the Market by Gerald Zaltman
